DIGITAL NOMAD VISA - A favourable opportunity for non-EU nationals relocating to Spain

More and more modern professionals have found themselves involved in remote work since the COVID-19 pandemic. Digital NOMADs who have seized this opportunity have reaped some luxurious benefits that enables one to move freely throughout the world whilst earning. And Spain may be next on their list with its Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) that is currently being developed.

The new Start Up Act introduced by Spanish Parliament aims to make Spain a more entrepreneurial country by 2030 and involves a 10-year plan and 50 additional measures to boost the economy post COVID.

To add further incentive for professionals and taking advantage of the booming trend in remote work, Spain´s DNV enables those who meet requirements to enjoy residing in Spain whilst reaping the benefits of being fiscally treated as a non-resident and paying less tax.

Non-EU citizens employed by non-Spanish companies, will be able to apply for this visa. As the visa has not yet been officially authorised, the details are not yet certain to say, although it is expected that the visa will last for one year, and holders will be able to renew it for a further 2 years if they continue to meet the requirements.
